The Neon Signs Liberty print is filled with hand-drawn rockets, rainbows, lightning bolts, guitars, dice, hearts, clovers and cars scattered across a deep charcoal ground. It feels as though a girl has emptied the contents of her imagination onto fabric—joyful, playful and wonderfully full of personality.
Across the waist, the smocking is manually worked using traditional artisanal techniques. Row after row of gathered pleats is carefully shaped by hand, then finished with bold zigzag embroidery in white, lavender and pink. A cotton tulle crinoline beneath the full gathered skirt gives it beautiful volume and movement.
